We visited for lunch and were unfortunately left very underwhelmed. Despite the restaurant not being at full capacity when we ordered, it took over 70 minutes for our food to arrive. This delay was particularly surprising given the large number of staff visible in the kitchen area at the time. Key Issues: Poor Value: The portion sizes did not reflect the high prices, especially the haddock and chips. The garden peas were served in a tiny sauce dish—a clear presentation tactic to make a very sparse portion look "full." Service: The service felt disorganized and haphazard. We had to specifically ask for sugar after our coffees were served as it wasn't offered. Environment: The restaurant was uncomfortably cold throughout our visit, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. Atmosphere: While we were thanked by a member of staff upon leaving, the interaction felt forced and insincere, which matched the overall lack of attention we felt during the service. For the price point, we expected a much higher standard of efficiency and hospitality.

The place has off street parking beside the restaurant for a big number of cars which makes it a great place to come as there is restricted parking along the main street. A narrow entrance but plenty of room to park the car. Entrance to the restaurant directly from the carpark. The restaurant is bright, well decorated with tables and chairs well laid out. A pleasant atmosphere and service to match. We were greeted and seated quickly. We had a voucher for tapas and drinks and had booked a table. The food and drinks arrived promptly, three plates with two tapas dishes on each. They were varied and we enjoyed them all. We had room for dessert so ordered a mousse and a cheesecake. Another hit. A very pleasant dinner over all.

Had a lovely lunch today. Haddock was delicious and lovely side salad. The macaroni cheese looked good and it was a big portion. The young man who served us was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing with nice decor. There was a lovely selection of desserts but unfortunately we were all too full by this point. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came here from fife on Hogmanay for our family get together. 7 adults and 2 toddlers. Friendly greetings from waitress and promptly seated including baby chairs. Drinks ordered first and all good.Starters arrived soon after ordering together with children's food which was perfect. Everyone happy with starters especially the cock a leeky chicken soup and the scallops which were especially good. Then the mains arrived altogether within a minute, well done. Everyone was happy with the food and the generous platefuls, although I thought the red tai vegetable and rice would not be enough for a male, it could have done with a little more vegetables. The haddock and chips were fine but could have done with a larger plate to Eat off . The children's food was good and adequate. Lastly the sweets came which were lovely apart from the clootie dumpling and custard which was a bit dry and for the price could have been a bit more Also vegetarian dishes could have more choice. We had a couple of rounds of drinks throughout the meal and the total was£400.00 . Both the toilets were very clean and modern and the baby changing facility was good. I would say brown and blacks is quality pub food. Little note their was a 10% service charge although I am assured that you don't have to pay but should be spoken about to whoever asks for the bill to save embarrassment. Most of us agreed we would Pop in here again in the future and would recommend it.
